|Steppers have had a rough ride since the invention of the elliptical trainer. The first stepper for fitness use was the StairMaster. The StairMaster Stepper was called the Pt 4000, it is now called the PT-4600 or PT-4400. Stair climbers were used to work out the lower body. They work very well, but the older models would cause joint pains. The came the Piston stepper for the home, they were brutal on knee's and back. Never use this type of stepper! Next came the StairMaster PT-7000, and this was very different stepper, but expensive. This stepper had moving steps like and escalator in the mall. It was much softer on the joints. Well a company called HCI came out with a stepper that worked just like the PT-7000, it is called the HCI ProStep 6000 and it was half the price. Another type of stepper that is used in hospitals all over the country, it is called the recumbent stepper. The recumbent stepper is a great all body workout, models are the Nustep, Physio Step, STfitness 8320 Stidewell stepper, Scifit RST-7000. The Scifit RST-7000 is among the best of this type of recumbent stepper, it can be used by those who are disabled, and therefore it can be tax deductible . The Magnum Next Step recumbent stepper works well too for a little less money. You can get a used StairMaster for a decent price, but make sure it is fully redone. The Stair stepper will also sometime go by the name of the a climber. We think the stepper or climber will stay around , but in limited quantity. For more info call 843-636-3833.|
